About Us Explorers are affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America. Exploring gives young adults an opportunity to have hands on experience in a career field. Rossford Explorer Post 790 explores the world of fire fighting and are able to assist our firefighters in protecting our city. The explorers learn the proper use of fire trucks, hoses and other fire fighting equipment, with hands on experience. Explorers are required to complete CPR and Standard First Aid certification along with the fire training. Yearly activities include touring various fire stations, attending fire musters, conventions, camp outs, and doing volunteer work. Exploring is open to all young adults from age 14 thru 21. Interested youth from adjoining communities are welcome. Meetings Meetings are held from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesdays, the first Wednesday of the month is an organizational meeting. The remaining Wednesdays contain a variety of firefighting and EMS topics, with classroom and hands on instruction. During the summer meetings are held every Wednesday evening, starting at 6:00 pm. On July 22, 2007 there is a
15 year anniversary party for the explorer post. We are looking for
past members and advisors of the post to attend. Please Call Audrey

On May 27, 2007 the Rossford
Explorer Post participated in the annual Mock Disaster Day Sponsored
by the Bedford Fire Explorer Post @ Monroe County Fair Grounds in
Monroe, MI. Rossford Explorers was stationed with Oregon Fire
Explorer Post 5002 for the day. These post utilized equipment from
area fire departments and organizations; Unit 806 from Northwood
Fire, Squad 792 from Rossford Fire, Mini-Pumper from Oregon Station
3, Ambulance from Life Star Ambulance Company, and SCBA's from Owens
Community College. The posts spent the day responding to mock runs
from broken bones to structural collapses with two other Fire
Explorer Post from; Northville, MI and Bedford, MI. A Police
Explorer post from Saline, MI was also in attendance.
