Here is a graphic proof of the new to us, used ladder truck the City is looking to purchase with Levy funds passed by voters in 2009. The 1995 model will  replace our 1978 unit.


February 2010- Crews responded to I-75 for a boat on fire on the expressway. Upon Chief 200's arrival a medium sized boat was well involved. Units responding were Chief 200, RE-790 and E-794 crews operated for about an hour due to extensive overhaul. For additional photos click here.


January 2010- Recently the Rescue Engine was featured on Firehouse.com Apparatus Showcase. As you can tell this beautiful piece is always being reviewed by departments around the Country and was also seen in the September 2009 issue of Fire Apparatus Magazine as well.  


December 2009-after 1 call Christmas Eve, a double shot  Christmas day, and a 2 'fer on the 26th, crews were dispatched to a well off car fire on I-75. Upon arrival of both Chiefs, the vehicle had a good fire in the engine compartment spreading to the passenger compartment. December 2009-Crews respond to a night time MVA. Upon arrival crews were met with one person who had minor injuries. For additional photos click here.


Third graders from Glenwood School stopped by the station and got the best tour a dime could buy. Seen here are Lt. Hennessy and FF/EMT Newell showing off the rolling stock that protects the City. For more pictures click here.

December 2009- The Rossford Firefighters Assn., held their annual Christmas Party @ the local American Legion Post. There were four Awards given out for some challenging calls. Seen below is the 2009 Firefighter of Year, Steve Vierk and his girlfriend Christie Kwolek, and the RFRD Officers. More pictures coming !


November 2009- Crews responded to an Auto Aid call with Perrysburg Twp. and were found to arrive as the first due truck on the first alarm, with heavy fire showing.  Size up revealed an attached garage with the house and full-size pick up truck as exposures. November 2009-The Thanksgiving holiday weekend kept crews busy and late for dinner as they responded to an MVA on the Ohio Turnpike. Upon arrive units found this to be an MCI involving 3 vehicles and six patients all who sustained non-life threatening injuries. Mutual aid was called from Perrysburg Twp. for 2 Life Squads and Lake Twp. EMS for Medic 50.


November 2009-Crews responded to multiple calls including this MVA. Two patients were treated for minor injuries.

Thanks voters, the Levy passed 1401 to 884 !!! This much needed renewal will allow for the replacement of the ladder truck which will only enhance our ability to deliver the VERY BEST Fire and Emergency Services to the Community !!!!!! THANK YOU !!!!!!!! 


October 2009- Crews responded to a 3 vehicle MVA with 5 total patients all with minor injuries. Crews were assisted by Perrysburg Twp. Fire & Rescue who also got the call on the City's border. For additional photos please click here.

September 2009-Crews "go back to school" for the first fire drills of the 2009-10 School Year.

September 2009- Crews were dispatched on a fire alarm to the local parochial school. Upon arrival they were met with a smoke condition in the office area. A working fire response was initiated with a full Auto-Aid compliment due to the Maximum Hazard Occupancy. After some difficulty, a fouled HVAC unit was the source of the smoke. Crews operated for approximately 90 minutes. 200-Command, 201-"A" side, 100 Accountability, RE-790, T-791, M-793, U-806, E-801,PTFD -501. For additional images click here.
